We were advised that there was a significant water leak taking place at this medium sized complex of flats in Portishead. We attended on the 8th June and used acoustic equipment to survey the system which comprises of largely black poly pipe. There was water breaking into a drain at the bottom of a slope which gave a rough clue as to the location of the leak. We eventually pinpointed the leak some 6m uphill from the drain. The repairs team attended on the 11th June and they excavated on the mark to expose a leaking 2” pipe. A short section of the pipe was removed and replaced with new mdpe and the water consumption was observed to return to a normal level following the repair.
